Boat winterization on Lake Bourget and in Aix-les-Bains

Every year, we winterize boats that come from Lake Bourget. Our indoor boat storage facility is not on the lakeshore: it is in Haute-Savoie, and that is precisely what allows us to keep your boat in an enclosed, frost-free building rather than under a cover by the water. We take care of the haul-out, boat transport, engine winterization and relaunch in the spring, at the marina of your choice.

Winterization solutions tailored to your boat

On Lake Bourget, the danger isn't the main lake: it's the inner reaches of the bays, which ice over in a hard frost, and the humidity that winter fog keeps up for weeks on end. We haul the boat out before the first frosts, drain the systems and store it dry until spring.

Haul-out from the Lake Bourget ramps

Grand Port, Petit Port, Mémard, Chindrieux or the Savières Canal: our trailers can reach the lake's ramps.

Transport to frost-free indoor boat storage

Your boat leaves Lake Bourget for our closed building in Haute-Savoie, not a tarp by the water.

Draining, engine winterization and humidity control

Lake Bourget's fog keeps condensation going, and outdoor storage can't stop it. Upholstery and systems are treated.

Relaunch at the marina of your choice

Full inspection, engine start in the test tank, then back on the lake on the agreed date.

Why trust us?

Lake Bourget is the largest natural lake of glacial origin in France, and its winter conditions are nothing like Annecy's: freezing bays, persistent fog, the bise blowing down the lake. We set the haul-out date around these conditions rather than a theoretical calendar.

Our local knowledge

Winterization on Lake Bourget: what we know about these waters

Lake Bourget, the largest natural lake of glacial origin in France, comes with its own winter challenges.

Bays freezing in a hard frost

Lake Bourget never freezes over completely, but its sheltered bays (Grésine, Mémard) can get a thin layer of ice during cold snaps: hauling out is a must.

Fog and humidity

The lake basin is prone to lingering winter fog: ventilated indoor storage prevents damaging condensation on upholstery and electronics.

Grand Port, Petit Port, Mémard

We work at the main marinas of Aix-les-Bains and the Savoie shore, with crane logistics suited to each jetty.

The bise blowing down the lake

The bise funnels along the north-south axis and raises a swell that wears out boats at the dock: better to haul out early in the season.

Our service areas around Lake Bourget

We serve every marina on Lake Bourget, from Aix-les-Bains to the Savières Canal. Two options: you bring your boat to our workshop, or we pick it up from your mooring and bring it back in spring. Tell us the size of your boat and your marina, and we will reply within 24 h.
